Norman, Ben, and Sione did an awesome job delivering and unpacking. Fast and professional, I would use these guys every time if I could.
Outstanding work! I used Continental Van to move my mother from Wasilla to Anchorage. Ken set me up in a timely manner, and was quick on the callbacks and followthrough. The 3 man moving crew were professional, respectful and diligent with the pack up, taking care with fragile items. They also made the delivery and unpack an easy and positive experience for my anxious 70+ mother. The borrow/return totes saved my family a lot of money, it shows Continental Van thinks of their customers first. 10 out of 10 would recommend and will definately use again!

This moving company did a fantastic job!! My husband had nothing but positive things to say about the crew who packed up our household in Fairbanks; and I have nothing but positive things to say about the crew who delivered and unpacked our belongings in Anchorage. I am shocked at how they lifted and moved some extraordinarily heavy items so smoothly without damage or even a scrape on a wall. They were also very kind and patient with me as we navigated a LOT of stuff with some small spaces–which took some expertise and finesse on their part. They went above and beyond our expectations. I have never had such a stress-free move 😆❤️
Such a great crew! Packed my entire home FILLED with fragile items in 2 days AND I’ve been unpacking and haven’t found a single thing broken. 10/10 recommend to anyone who is nervous about packing or first time big movers.

High fives to Kone and Nio for being exceptional movers! They worked non-stop to pack up my house over 2 days. I had large items, fragile goods, plus a motorcycle that they packed with care for its long journey to the lower 48. These are some of the hardest-working guys I’ve seen, and definitely the best crew of movers I’ve ever worked with. They were friendly, professional, courteous, showed up on time, and stayed late to make sure everything got done; all while being short one crew member and traveling to a remote location. I couldn’t be happier with the work they did – thank you!!!
⭐THANK YOU Royal Alaskan Movers ⭐ for moving my family and saving my husband’s back! After a fast paced move, the majority of my belonging were stuck in storage. After a call to Royal, we were able to get everything moved in a few hours! The crew was prompt and extremely courteous and careful with all our belongings! Scheduling was fast as well. I called and they came out the next morning! We were moved in less than 4 hours! I would give 10 Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

How to Choose a Moving Company in Juneau
Vetting movers in Juneau matters because weather, ferries, and long distances can affect timelines and costs. Local and intrastate moves follow Alaska rules, while interstate moves require federal registration. Confirming credentials and scope upfront reduces surprises on moving day.
🛡️ Licensing and insurance
For interstate moves, verify USDOT and MC numbers. For local or intrastate, check Alaska registration and active cargo and liability coverage.
❄️ Experience with Alaska logistics
Weather, ferries, and remote access can shift schedules. Ask about similar routes, contingency plans, and winter operations.
💰 Transparent estimates
Request line-item quotes. Clarify stairs, long carries, shuttles, storage, and fuel surcharges, plus binding versus not-to-exceed terms.
⭐ Reviews and dispute handling
Scan recent feedback for patterns in care and communication. Ask how claims are filed, timelines, and who handles resolutions.
📦 Scope of services
Decide if you need packing, crating, storage, or specialty handling. Compare delivery windows, tracking, and valuation options.
📍 Availability and coverage
Confirm crew size for your date and whether the company serves both origin and destination without subcontracting.
Practical Tips for Moving to Juneau, Alaska
Moving to Juneau, AK means planning around ferries, flights, frequent rain, and a road system that doesn’t link to the rest of Alaska. Set your dates around marine and air schedules, protect your items from moisture, and line up utilities before the truck or container shows up.
- Build around ferry/barge schedules. Get cutoff dates, likely sailings, and a backup option; add buffer days for weather delays.
- Rain-ready packing. Use plastic totes, shrink-wrap, and furniture covers; add desiccant packs. Keep documents, meds, and electronics with you.
- Confirm building access. Reserve elevators, loading zones, and street permits; tight driveways may require a smaller shuttle truck.
- Plan for timing gaps. If housing dates don’t match, book short-term storage and label a “first-week” set of essentials.
- Vehicle and freight choices. Compare AMHS roll-on vs. barge for cars; if you’re driving to the ferry, carry ID, insurance, and an itemized inventory.
- Set up utilities early. Start electric, internet, and fuel delivery before arrival; test heat and hot water when you get keys.
- Moisture control at move-in. Bring boot trays, towels, a box fan, and consider a dehumidifier if the space runs damp.
- Safety and local habits. Know tsunami and earthquake routes, keep a small outage kit (flashlights, power bank), and use wildlife-safe trash practices.
