High fives to Kone and Nio for being exceptional movers! They worked non-stop to pack up my house over 2 days. I had large items, fragile goods, plus a motorcycle that they packed with care for its long journey to the lower 48. These are some of the hardest-working guys I’ve seen, and definitely the best crew of movers I’ve ever worked with. They were friendly, professional, courteous, showed up on time, and stayed late to make sure everything got done; all while being short one crew member and traveling to a remote location. I couldn’t be happier with the work they did – thank you!!!
⭐THANK YOU Royal Alaskan Movers ⭐ for moving my family and saving my husband’s back! After a fast paced move, the majority of my belonging were stuck in storage. After a call to Royal, we were able to get everything moved in a few hours! The crew was prompt and extremely courteous and careful with all our belongings! Scheduling was fast as well. I called and they came out the next morning! We were moved in less than 4 hours! I would give 10 Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Customer Reviews by Google
This moving company did a fantastic job!! My husband had nothing but positive things to say about the crew who packed up our household in Fairbanks; and I have nothing but positive things to say about the crew who delivered and unpacked our belongings in Anchorage. I am shocked at how they lifted and moved some extraordinarily heavy items so smoothly without damage or even a scrape on a wall. They were also very kind and patient with me as we navigated a LOT of stuff with some small spaces–which took some expertise and finesse on their part. They went above and beyond our expectations. I have never had such a stress-free move 😆❤️
Such a great crew! Packed my entire home FILLED with fragile items in 2 days AND I’ve been unpacking and haven’t found a single thing broken. 10/10 recommend to anyone who is nervous about packing or first time big movers.

How to Choose a Moving Company in North Lakes
Vetting movers in North Lakes matters because weather, ferries, and long distances can affect timelines and costs. Local and intrastate moves follow Alaska rules, while interstate moves require federal registration. Confirming credentials and scope upfront reduces surprises on moving day.
🛡️ Licensing and insurance
For interstate moves, verify USDOT and MC numbers. For local or intrastate, check Alaska registration and active cargo and liability coverage.
❄️ Experience with Alaska logistics
Weather, ferries, and remote access can shift schedules. Ask about similar routes, contingency plans, and winter operations.
💰 Transparent estimates
Request line-item quotes. Clarify stairs, long carries, shuttles, storage, and fuel surcharges, plus binding versus not-to-exceed terms.
⭐ Reviews and dispute handling
Scan recent feedback for patterns in care and communication. Ask how claims are filed, timelines, and who handles resolutions.
📦 Scope of services
Decide if you need packing, crating, storage, or specialty handling. Compare delivery windows, tracking, and valuation options.
📍 Availability and coverage
Confirm crew size for your date and whether the company serves both origin and destination without subcontracting.
Practical Moving Tips
Moving to North Lakes, AK puts you in the Mat-Su, where winter, hills, and busy commuter corridors (Glenn/Parks) shape how a move plays out. Plan around weather and traffic, make sure a truck can reach the house, and prep anything that’s sensitive to cold or moisture.
- Time your move day. Avoid rush hours on the Glenn/Parks; give yourselves buffer days for storms, ice, or construction.
- Check driveway and street rules. Steep or soft gravel may need sanding or boards; confirm HOA/borough rules for truck parking or street closures.
- Stage access for the crew. Clear snow/ice, mark low tree limbs and tight turns, and leave room for the truck to turn around or for a small shuttle truck if needed.
- Get heat and utilities active first. Start electric, internet, and (if needed) fuel delivery; verify thermostat and tank levels before unloading.
- Winterize vehicles and gear. Block heater, healthy battery, correct coolant, true winter tires, and an outdoor plug where you park.
- Protect freeze-sensitive items. Don’t ship liquids that burst; keep meds, electronics, and important papers with you; use plastic totes and furniture covers.
- Pack a first-week box. Warm layers, boots, bedding, cookware, toiletries, headlamp, power bank, basic tools, and a small pantry supply.
- Think seasonally and locally. Stock ice melt and traction aids in winter; expect summer construction and occasional wildfire smoke—keep spare filters/air purifier and use wildlife-safe trash practices.
