This moving company did a fantastic job!! My husband had nothing but positive things to say about the crew who packed up our household in Fairbanks; and I have nothing but positive things to say about the crew who delivered and unpacked our belongings in Anchorage. I am shocked at how they lifted and moved some extraordinarily heavy items so smoothly without damage or even a scrape on a wall. They were also very kind and patient with me as we navigated a LOT of stuff with some small spaces–which took some expertise and finesse on their part. They went above and beyond our expectations. I have never had such a stress-free move 😆❤️

Such a great crew! Packed my entire home FILLED with fragile items in 2 days AND I’ve been unpacking and haven’t found a single thing broken. 10/10 recommend to anyone who is nervous about packing or first time big movers.

These guys (Dan & Fred) really went far & above in ensuring my household goods were carefully wrapped and packed & that the new house was protected to avoid any possible damage. The efficiency and quality of work they do in packing is unmatched. Dan was very knowledgeable and efficient during the estimate done in person. He was on the dot in the weight estimate too. A TRUE EXPERT! I have made friends with DAN & FRED for life. Forever grateful to have been recommended to World Wide Movers, Inc Alaska for having such great professionals in my team. Always ask for Dan & Fred!! Analia- 🙂

Had my stuff stored here for 6 years and had to pick up my stuff last minute. The staff was accommodating and was able to squeeze me in. I was extremely pleased with the customer service I received.

High fives to Kone and Nio for being exceptional movers! They worked non-stop to pack up my house over 2 days. I had large items, fragile goods, plus a motorcycle that they packed with care for its long journey to the lower 48. These are some of the hardest-working guys I’ve seen, and definitely the best crew of movers I’ve ever worked with. They were friendly, professional, courteous, showed up on time, and stayed late to make sure everything got done; all while being short one crew member and traveling to a remote location. I couldn’t be happier with the work they did – thank you!!!

⭐THANK YOU Royal Alaskan Movers ⭐ for moving my family and saving my husband’s back! After a fast paced move, the majority of my belonging were stuck in storage. After a call to Royal, we were able to get everything moved in a few hours! The crew was prompt and extremely courteous and careful with all our belongings! Scheduling was fast as well. I called and they came out the next morning! We were moved in less than 4 hours! I would give 10 Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

How Much Does a Steele Creek, AK Move Cost?

Moving from Steele Creek, AK (east of Fairbanks) often means steeper grades, ice fog, and tight winter windows. Budget the on-site labor at both ends—load at origin and unload at destination—then layer in linehaul, fuel, marine freight, and any crating or access fees separately. The figures below fit a typical 2-bedroom apartment; stairs, elevator windows, parking distance, and special handling can change the time.

How to Choose a Moving Company in Steele Creek

    🛡️ Licensing and status

Look for the USDOT numbers on their websites as evidence of their legal status; it shows they’ve met DOT requirements to transport household goods across the country.

    📄 Insurance and valuation

Ask about proper moving insurance; adequate insurance will bring down your stress level if something happens to valuable items.

    💰 Accurate estimates

Request on-site moving price estimates and know there are two types of moving estimates – binding and non-binding. After the home survey, movers must list transportation costs and any extra services.

    ⭐ Reviews and shortlisting

Use moving reviews and ratings to verify recommendations and narrow to a handful of good professional movers before you contact them.

    📦 Scope and access issues

During the home survey, point out obstacles: tight corners, steep stairs, elevators, narrow hallways, and confirm needed services (packing, crating, storage) and delivery windows, tracking.

    📌 Disputes and red flags

Request the mover’s dispute settlement policy so you know your post-move options. Also learn the red flags of moving fraud and say NO! to moving fraud.

    Practical Moving Tips

Moving to Steele Creek, AK means steep grades, ice fog, and real sub-zero cold. Plan around weather, confirm truck access to a hillside driveway, and have heat and utilities live before unloading. Protect anything that can’t handle freezing temps, and give yourself buffer days for storms.

    • Time the move and add slack. Cold snaps and blowing snow slow crews and trucks; a one-day buffer can save re-delivery fees.
    • Verify access on a hill. Sand or plow the driveway, mark tight turns, trim low branches, and stage a turnaround spot; consider a smaller shuttle truck if clearance is tight.
    • Get heat and utilities on first. Start electric, set up heating oil/propane delivery, check tank level, and test thermostats and hot water the day you get keys.
    • Winterize vehicles. Block heater, strong battery, correct coolant, true winter tires (studded if allowed), and an outdoor plug where you park.
    • Protect freeze-sensitive items. Don’t ship liquids that burst; keep meds, electronics, and documents with you; use plastic totes and furniture covers, not bare cardboard.
    • Plan for water/septic realities. If on delivery water or a holding tank, schedule service ahead of time and learn shutoffs to avoid freeze damage.
    • Prepare a first-week kit. Warm layers, boots, bedding, cookware, toiletries, headlamp, power bank, basic tools, space heater, and 2–3 days of food and water.
    • Safety and seasons. Keep a CO detector with fresh batteries, a small outage kit, and traction aids; in summer, expect road work and occasional smoke—have spare HVAC filters and use wildlife-safe trash.

    Our Methodology

We adapted a rigorous rubric to Alaska’s realities: weather, ferries, remote access, while keeping consumer priorities front and center.

    • Customer satisfaction: Recent reviews and complaint ratios show if they show up on time with good communication and within quoted price. We also look for clear dispute process and moving insurance with usable valuation options.
    • Standard services: Full service for packing/unpacking, loading/unloading, transport and storage. We prefer highly trained and experienced crews using industry approved boxes, pads and bubble wrap for fragile items, and climate controlled storage when needed.
    • Reputation and compliance: Active USDOT numbers on their website as proof of their legitimacy, FMCSA/Alaska registration, insurance and trust signals like ProMover Certified or FIDI Network membership. We say NO! to moving fraud by looking for common red flags.
    • Add-on services: Extras that matter in Alaska: custom crating, vehicle/oversize handling, debris removal, and direct-van or minimal-handoff options that move lives, not just possessions.
    • Availability and Alaska readiness: Capacity in peak season, after-hours or weekend availability, and proof of ferry/remote/winter operations that keep routes on schedule.
    • Type of mover: Clear disclosure of carrier vs. broker and the share of work done with an in-house fleet vs. subcontractors.
    • Pricing transparency: Written, line-item estimates with accessorials (stairs, long carries, shuttles, fuel) and clear binding vs. not-to-exceed terms.
    • Scheduling and process: Easy booking and coordination, including a free consultation and no-obligation moving estimate, digital inventories/tracking where offered, and guaranteed delivery windows when feasible.
